This is considered to be a part a part of the Trans Mississippi Theater of the Civil War. This battle took place between approximately 6000 Union Cavalry under the command of Brigadier General John Davidson and two separate Confederate Cavalry units totaling 2500 troops under the commands of Brigadier General John Marmaduke and Colonel Archibald Dobbins. On the morning of 10 September General Davidson crossed the Arkansas River with his division to advance on the location then known as Little Rock. He ran into the two Confederate Cavalry divisions at what was then called Bayou Fourche, now present day Little Rock. With the help of Federal artillery, Davidson was able to force the Confederate to withdraw from the field. This battle is considered a Union victory, as Union troops occupied the state capitol of Arkansas that evening. These five bullets were all recovered on private property.
