Pre Civil War Militia Officers Sword Drop

This is a drop for a sword belt rig from the pre Civil War era. This drop measures 23 1/2" from the belt to the end of the drop and is 3/4" wide. This drop is an ornate one made of brass links. The drop was suspended from the belt by a piece of folded red leather that has gold and blue fabric sewn over it. The hanger that snaps onto the suspension ring of the scabbard is present and still functions properly. There are plenty of Civil War period photos of officers with this style of drop on their belts, but I'm positive this one was made before the war broke out. It displays well on it's own, but if you happen to be needing one to complete a belt rig, here you go!
