US Militia Officer's or Cadet's Eagle Head Sword Pommel and Guard

This is a pommel cap and cross guard from an Eagle head Militia Officer's or Cadet's sword from the 1820 to 1850 period. This one just walked in the front door from Greenville, Tennessee. There is no known history on the pair. I'm more inclined to think this is a cadet's sword because of the guard. The pommel cap is made to go over the tang of the blade and be retained by a capstan nut. Both pieces have a nice, aged patina to them. If anybody out there is looking for eagle head sword parts, here you go!
