This book was written by Robert A. Moore, edited by James W. Silver, published in 1959 the narrative is 168 pages and is illustrated with black and white photos and drawings. Moore's book, "As Recorded in the Pocket Diaries of Pvt. Robert A. Moore, Co. G, 17th Mississippi Regiment, Confederate Guards, Holly Springs, Mississippi" is more than the sum of it's diaries. The author, through his diaries, takes the reader from May, 1861, to his death at the Battle of Chickamauga, September, 1863. Readers get a personal look through the hardworking farmer of 25. He enjoys jokes and tells a good story as he tells the larger story, how the Confederate Army worked. This hard back book is in very good condition, it does not have a dust jacket.
