Union General Staff Cuff/Vest Button

This is a non dug US General Staff cuff or vest button from the Civil War era. This button is two piece in design, measures 15.05 mm and utilizes a shank. It is back marked "EXTRA QUALITY". The face of the button is the same as depicted in Albert's book as GS 13A on page 293. The brass button has a beautiful golden patina on the face, with the back having the same patina. The back mark is clear and very legible. The shank is present and standing tall. These buttons were worn by Union staff officers, as well as Confederate enlisted and officers. This little jewel would look great in you Civil War button collection.
