This is a an illustration from Frank Leslie's Historical Register of the Centennial Exposition that was held in 1876. The Centennial International Exhibition, the first official World's Fair held in the US, was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was held from 10 May through 10 November, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia. Leslie's register of the centennial was embellished with almost 800 hand drawn illustrations done expressly for this work, by the most eminent artists in America. This one is of an exhibit from the Weber Piano Company shown in the main building of the exposition. It measures 10" wide and 7 3/4" high. It is mounted on a piece of poster board and covered in plastic.
