GAR Aide de Camp Certificate of Frank A. Cargill Dated 1927

This is a Grand Army of the Republic certificate appointing Frank A. Cargill as Aide de Camp for the Commander of the Grand Army of the Republic presented to him on August 3rd, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The certificate measures 24" wide and 19" tall. The certificate is in very good condition, having no tears, cuts, bends, creases or stains. It is signed by George W. Morton, the Adjutant General, and Frank A. Walsh, Commander in Chief of the GAR at that time. The official seal of the GAR is displayed on the bottom left corner of the document. The certificate reads: "The Commander in Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic" To Comrade Dr. Frank A.Cargill Greeting Reposing especial trust and confidence in your Fidelity and Ability and in your Zeal for the interests of the Grand Army of the Republic and devotion to its principles. I do by virtue of the power and authority in me vested hereby appoint you Aide-de-Camp and authorize and empower you to enter upon and perform the duties of said Office in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Grand Army of the Republic and for so doing this shall be your Commission Given at the Headquarters of the Grand Army of the Republic at Milwaukee this 3rd day of August, 1927. This is the second Aide de Camp certificate I have listed for Dr Cargill, along with his medical diploma. These certificates in some nice frames would really make your GAR collection come alive!
