Bust of General Albert Sidney Johnston

This is a ceramic bust of Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston. It stands 6 1/4" tall and is atop an integral base that measures 2 3/4" by 2 3/4". The bust depicts Johnston in the early war years. Albert Sidney Johnston was the highest ranking officer to be killed during the Civil War. While many Civil War generals were killed, Johnston was the only one that was in command of an entire theater of operations. He was killed on 6 April, 1862 at the Battle of Shiloh. The bust is signed by Hucks on the back. If you have a Confederate collection it's not complete without something from someone considered by Jefferson Davis to be the best military commander of his time!
