This is a pewter figurine from Andrew Chernak that is titled James Longstreet. The pewter figure of James Longstreet comes on an attractive oval wooden base that measures 4 1/4" by 3 1/4" and is approximately 5" tall. The figurine is highly detailed, depicting General Longstreet presumably looking out at a battlefield, or perhaps studying the terrain to determine a good defensive position. Here he is standing, looking out over the battlefield with his binoculars in his right hand. His left hand holds his old slouch hat and rests on the hilt of his sword. Longstreet is wearing a double breasted frock coat, trousers and above the knee boots. There is nothing on the ground near his feet. His waist belt shows a rectangle belt plate, and the only thing on the belt is his Union US marked staff and field officers sword. His binocular case is worn over his left shoulder. The figurine is marked on the back with the artist's signature A. Lee Chernak, a copyright mark and the date 1996. The limited edition run of 5000 shows this one to be number 170. A simple banner on the front reads JAMES LONGSTREET. It would make a great desk ornament or a decorator piece in your war room, perhaps the perfect birthday or Christmas gift!
