This is a pewter figurine from C.M. Abvil entitled "C.S. SURGEON 1861-65". The pewter figure of a Confederate surgeon standing on an attractive square wooden base that measures 3 3/8" by 3 3/8" and is approximately 5 3/4" tall. The figurine is well detailed, depicting a Confederate surgeon from an unnamed brigade. He is standing, holding possibly a bible in his right hand, his gloves in his left hand. The doctor is wearing a kepi, double breasted frock coat, trousers and brogans. He wears a sash under his belt that has a two piece buckle, and a physicians sword on the left side. The figurine is marked on the back with the artist's signature C.M. Abvil, a copyright mark and the date 1996. A simple plate on the front with the inscription "CS SURGEON 1861-65" describes the figure. It would make a great desk ornament or a decorator piece in your war room, perhaps the perfect birthday or Christmas gift!
