Late 1800's Cast Iron Stirrup Set

This is a set of cast iron stirrups from the late 1800's. They are commonly associated with southern plantation saddles and are sometimes believed to be Confederate used during the Civil War. This set is post Civil War, and this style was very popular during the late 19th century. This style was commonly found on the Kentucky Spring Seat, or Somerset saddle. This set measures 6" tall, 5 1/2" wide and have a tread width of 2 7/8". The spurs have a dark, aged patina with slight surface rust. These were found in an old log cabin in West Tennessee.
