This is a leather case for a smaller set of binoculars used during the Civil War. The well used, but sturdy little case stand 4 1/2" high, is 4 3/4" wide at the top and tapers to 4 1/2" at the bottom. The leather is well worn and curled up at the edges along the bottom in a couple of spots. The stitching remains tight and unbroken except for the closure strap on the front. The stitching at the top where the strap connects is broken, but the strap is still holding on! There are three small roller buckles securely sewn on the case, one for the closure strap on the top and one on each side of the case to accommodate a leather carrying strap. The strap is miss from the case. If you have a smaller set of French made binoculars but need a case, this should work fine.
