This is an antique branding iron from the southwestern United States. This one was picked up in New Mexico on a recent trip out west. The overall length is 14" with the actual brand measuring 7" long and 5 3/4" wide. The brand is in the shape of a cross with a circle below it. Unfortunately I did not get the meaning of this brand. This will make a great decorative piece if you are looking for that southwestern, cowboy or Spanish look.
