12mm Short Pinfire Cartridge

This is a 12mm short pinfire cartridge from the Civil War era. The copper cased cartridge is head stamped in an oval around the rim of the case, "FUSNOT BRUXELLES", which stands for Charles Fusnot of Brussels, Belgium. The case length is 15 mm with a projectile diameter of 11.25 mm. The brass ignition pin contrasts well with the dark copper case. The projectile has an aged, almost black patina to it. There aren't a whole lot of these pinfire cartridges from the Civil War floating around out there. If you have a Civil War ammunition collection this one needs to be in it!
