This is a flap holster for the Colt 1860 Army revolver. The leather is still soft and supple and has no tears or rips. A section of the original stitching is broken, from the toe approximately 3 1/2" up. The closure strap is not torn or missing and is securely sewn onto the flap. This closure tab has two different slots to accommodate two different sized pistols. I slid a Colt Army in to check for fit and the holster fit like a glove. The brass finial is tight to the body of the holster. The plug in the toe of the holster is still reporting for duty and is securely attached. The large belt loop on the back is securely attached as well. Centered on the belt loop is a US cartouche stamped within a circle. This old warhorse of the Union Army has seen it's fair share of of service, but it still displays well. It would compliment any collection!
