Civil War Era Pocket Telescope

This is a three pull pocket telescope from the Civil War era. It measures 6" collapsed and 16 1/8" fully extended. The leather cover over the body of the telescope shows some honest wear and has a couple of spots where the black outer layer has flaked off. The stitching for the cover is still tight. The brass on the telescope has not been cleaned and presents an eye pleasing dull golden patina. The optics on this one are crystal clear. Both of the protective cap for the objective lense is still present and is stamped MADE IN FRANCE. The eyepiece also has a protective cover that slides in and out of the optical path, and operates perfectly. This little beauty would look great in a Cavalry display, an Engineer or Officers grouping.
