Spanish Southwestern Spur

This is a spur in the style of the often associated with the Mexican Vaquero, or cowboy. We received half a dozen of these Spanish Southwestern style spurs on consignment a little while back, so I'll be listing them every so often. This one is another heavy iron spur made in the late 1800's. The leather strap is still with this one, but the photo's will show that it has broken where it is secured by the roller buckle. The outer side of the spur has been ornately engraved. The inner side of the spur is smooth and still has a dull gray patina, while the outer is more of a rusty brown. The six point rowel rotates freely. The tines measure 1 1/8" in length. Here's another candidate for decorating your favorite room in that southwestern motif!
