This is a King Seeley Thermos Rambo lunch box from 1985. The King Seeley Thermos company, formerly known as American Thermos, was one of the major manufactures of lunch boxes in the United States. The 1985 Rambo lunch box is regarded by collectors as being one of the last mass produced metal lunch boxes. The box and thermos are both in very good condition. There is the usual paint loss on the edges, although it is very slight. There is one small dent on the right side of the led. The handle and latch are present and the latch works fine. They are part metal and part plastic. The front and back of the lunch box depicts Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, Green Beret Vietnam veteran. Rambo is in the center with a flight of UH-1 "Heuy's" over his right shoulder and a Russian Hind D gunship to his left. The best part of the art is Rambo's weapon, an M60 machine gun. These were the work horses of the military though the Vietnam era and are still used today. But even after 36 years with the military I never saw one that could serve as a Rocket Propelled Grenade launcher! Oh well, these things were intended to carry little Johnnies lunch to school. This one will make a great starter for a lunch box collector, or for the guy who collects all things Rambo!
