Infantry 1st Lieutenant Shoulder Straps

This is a set of 1st Lieutenant of Infantry shoulder straps. These are Civil War era and could very possibly have been worn during the Indian War period. They measure 3 3/4" in length and 1 1/4" wide. The backs are black felt with about half the backing missing. The front of the straps have a pale blue felt center to indicate the Infantry branch. There is a small piece of the pale blue material missing between the bars. A gilted gold metallic material with provides the border for the straps. Each end of the strap has a single bar of the false gilt trimmed in gold to indicate the rank of 1st Lieutenant. This style of strap was intended to be sewn onto the uniform. This one still displays great. Another opportunity to own a nice Infantry piece for your collection or display.
