Well worn Model 1860 Colt Army holster. This one has seen extensive use but remains intact and functional. The stitching is still very tight, but there is one small area near the flap where the stitching is broken. Almost all the original black has flaked off, leaving the leather in it's natural buff state. The brass closure stud is present and aligns perfectly with the flap. The toe even has the plug in it still. The belt loop looks to be a period replacement. I believe that this was done after the Civil War judging by the rivets used to attach it to the holster. This one probably saw service in the Civil War then traveled west to participate in the Indian campaigns. The leather is still very supple and flexible. You can see the outline of a Colt revolver from across the room in this one! It will compliment your Civil War, Indian Wars or Colt pistol collection.
