Naval Kepi
Item #: AA677
Relic condition Civil War era kepi with Naval insignia. This one is in pretty rough condition. It came in with history of being found in a box from a barn sale in Vermont. There is very little moth damage to the once blue wool material. The wool has faded from dark blue to a chocolate brown appearance. The brim is broken in two and barely retained by a couple of stitches. The gold braided chin strap is broken in two also. Only one button remains, and trying to read a possible back mark would require removing it. The one inch sweat band has become very brittle over the years and most of the stitching is broken. The fouled anchor metal insignia has one tip broken off. A rough but unique Civil War artifact.
