1920's GAR Slouch Hat

Early 1900's Grand Army of the Republic reunion hat in relic condition. This one has been hidden away in some attic for quite a while. The original black felt has faded to a mottled brownish color. There is moth damage over the entire hat, but nothing major in any one area. The hat band is present, but doesn't appear to be the original one. A post war laurel wreath with the letters GAR is pinned to the front of the hat. The leather sweat band is still reporting for duty although the stitching is broken at the rear. The sweat band has the maker mark of Boyville searsroebuck & co. Boyville was a clothing company that sold merchandise for boys through the Sears Roebuck company prominently in the 1920's - 1930's. Relic condition veterans reunion hat priced to sell.
