1900's GAR Slouch Hat

Early 1900's Grand Army of the Republic slouch hat. This one doesn't have any makers marks. The construction and material put it around the 1900 - 1920 era. It is made f a tan felt material and has a a stitched border around the brim. It measures 14" long, has a 3 1/2' brim and a 5" crown. A post war laurel wreath with US attached is pinned to the front of the hat. The leather sweat band is completely intact, but is a little brittle. If this one was worn it was very seldom. The hat band with acorns is present and completely intact. Just a few imperfections on the brim and one on the crown, otherwise this one could pass for brand new. Fits like it's about a size 7, no size tag. Really nice display item if you collect GAR items.
