Complete 8 page edition of the New York Herald newspaper dated December 23, 1864. This edition centers on Confederate General John Bell Hood's Army of the Tennessee's retreat after the Battle of Nashville. The headline reads "Hood's Flight Rout of The Rebels From Nashville To Columbia. A large map of the battles line of march is shown in the center of the front page. The paper is in fair condition, with some fraying a small tears along the outer edge. The paper has plenty of interesting reading and the print is still very legible. Nice piece of self documenting Civil War history.
