Imported Model 1854 bayonet for the Austrian Lorenz 54 caliber musket. These weapons were used by both the Northern and Southern armies during the Civil War. The bayonet has an overall length of 22", with the blade measuring 18 1/2" and the socket 3 1/8". The socket has started to turn a light brown color while the quad blade still retains a bright appearance. Both shanks have stamps, one appears to be a possible unit identification. The scabbard is in great condition, with the only wear showing at the throat. This is a great example of an imported Civil War era bayonet.
