French Model 1847 bayonet imported for use during the American Civil War. It measures 21" overall, with an 18" blade and a 2 5/8" socket. This one is in attic condition, with an overall brownish gray patina. These were imported to the US during the Civil War along with approximately 140,000 French and Belgian muskets. This has makers marks and inspector marks galore. The pictures show them all.
