Early 1900's lantern made by R. E. Dietz of New York. This particular model is known as the "Wizard". This lantern was made between 1912 and 1919. It stands 14" tall from the top to the base, excluding the handle. The base measures 7 3/4" across. The globe is 4 3/4" tall, is unmarked and has no cracks or damage. The lift mechanism is frozen, but could be operational with a little elbow grease. The fill cap is the 3/4" variety and is present. It even has what looks to be the original wick! The lantern is black with very little rust, mostly surface rust on the bottom of the base. The top of the lantern is marked DIETZ WIZARD. The base is stamped No 2 LARGE FOUNT WIZARD on the front and DIETZ on the back. A really great decorative piece. This one will require a little special shipping considerations.
