Late 1800's stoneware jar from Greene county Tennessee. This is an absolutely beautiful painted jar from East Tennessee. It measures 16" tall, 9 1/4" across the bottom and has an 8" opening. The two handles are molded into the shoulder of the jar. Two incised lines run along the shoulder also. The jar is painted a dark brown and has gold trim around the lip of the jar and the handles. A painted floral scene of gold, green and pale blue decorate the front of the jar. The jar is unmarked. It has no cracks, chips or any other damage. There are a couple of casting flaws, small pin holes on the outside of the jar. Nothing to detract from the beauty of this one, just mentioned for accuracy. Special shipping required for this item.
