Import Model 1840 cavalry Scabbard

Import Model 1840 Cavalry scabbard. This one came into the shop recently with a Model 1851 officers belt plate and a "Bulls Eye" canteen. No history other than it belonged to a grand parent that was from Maine. The scabbard is 36 1/2" from the throat to the end of the scabbard, 37" to the end of the drag. The width is 1 11/16" at the throat and 1' at the end of the scabbard. The two rings and mounts show little wear. The body of the scabbard has one slight dent 10" up from the drag, mentioned for accuracy. A nice Union used scabbard that would go great with your Model 1840 cavalry saber!
