1840 Cavalry Scabbard

Model 1840 Cavalry scabbard manufactured in the US. This is a barn find coming out of middle Tennessee. The scabbard was found with an old Ames wristbreaker, but the blade was broken in three pieces. The scabbard is 37" from the throat to the end of the scabbard, 37 1/2" from the throat to the end of the drag. The width is 1 1/2" at the throat and 1" at the end of the scabbard. The two rings and mounts show some wear. The entire scabbard has surface rust, but with some elbow grease and a couple beers this one can still be cleaned up! There are no dents in the scabbard, causing me to think this one rode in from up north!
