Regulation 1905 Navy Officer belt plate on original belt. This style was utilized from 1905 until 1941, when the eagles head and body changed position. The plate does not have a maker mark, but A6234 is scratched into the back of the plate. Most likely the officer who owned this marked it for identification. The gilt cast brass plate and keeper are in good condition. The high points of the eagles body show actual wear as well as parts of outer wreath. The brass belt adjuster is present and in good condition. The leather belt shows significant wear. Apparently this one belong to a very active officer! Great Naval artifact from the early 1900's.
