Excavated CSA Belt Buckle
Item #: AA422
Excavated "Virginia" CSA rectangular belt buckle. The buckle has an even eye pleasing chocolate patina. The border of the buckle has been cut off of the left side. The buckle has also been struck on the top edge in the center, possibly during excavation. All three hooks are missing from the back of the buckle. The location of this recovered buckle is not known. An example of this "Virginia" rectangle is shown in Steve Mullinax's book "Confederate Belt Buckles & Plates" as plate 84. This is a must for any eastern campaign, excavated, buckle collection.
