Colt Single Action Army revolver chambered in 45 long colt. The revolver is a cavalry version with the 7 1/2" barrel. This weapon is stamped with serial number 179057 on the frame, trigger guard and main housing. The barrel is marked on the left side with 45 COLT. and COLTS PT. F. A. MFG. Co HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. on the top. The left side of the frame has stamps of the patents for SEPT 19 1871, JULY 2, 72 and JAN. 19 75. The loading gate is stamped with the numbers 973. The original ivory grips are in excellent condition. The left grip is inscribed with an Indian scene, showing two Teepee's on a hillside. The right grip shows what appears to be a record of some type, with 17 notches showing. The action is crisp and locks in all positions. Scattered case coloring still remains in the recessed areas, with the overall appearance of the metal in good condition. This Colt will make an great addition to your Western Collection.
