This is a K98 German ammo pouch from World War II. The brown leather pouch is in very good condition for it's age. The stitching is strong throughout the box. The leather on the back side of the box is brown, the front looks to have been dyed black at some point, but is mostly worn off to reveal the original brown color. The belt loops are riveted and sewn onto the back. Neither of the belt loop straps are torn, but one of the closure straps is torn and one is broken. The inner dividers are missing from all two pockets, one is still reporting for duty. The pouches held two five round stripper clips of 8mm ammunition, for a total of 30 rounds per pouch. This pouch is a pre WWII piece, being dated 1936. The makers mark is visible on the back, but not legible. The d ring on the back of the pouch is still securely sewn on. This would make a perfect starter piece for the beginning WWII German collector out there.
