This is a seven compartment wallet from the early 1900's. It measures 8 1/2" wide and 4 1/4" high. It is made of red leather with the interior compartments made of woven fabric. The wallet is laid out like an accordion, allowing easy access to each different compartment. There is some old paperwork inside the wallet, dating from 1902 up to 1917. Most is letters between a brother and sister from Indiana. There are some receipts from the same time periods for bank transactions as well. The wallet itself is in relatively good condition, showing wear from use but not abused. The stitching is broken on the back of the wallet from the top of the last compartment to about half way down. The rest of the stitching is strong and unbroken. You could probably use this one in a WWI personal effects display.
