Side Knife made from Import Sword

This is a hand made side knife using an import infantry sword blade. This side knife measures 15 7/8" in length, with a blade that measures 11 1/2" long. The handle has a decorative design of three incised lines. There is a crack in the wood that runs the length of the handle on one side, likely caused from wood shrinkage. The small iron cross guard is a little loose, also most likely due to wood shrinkage. The blade is made from an import infantry or other straight type blade. It is a spear point design, and still retains the ricasso and a fuller that measures 7" long. It still has some period sharpness to it! There is no history with it, no great Confederate story to go along with it! But if I was a betting man, well, we won't go there!
