This is a reproduction of an M3 fighting knife used by the US military during World War II, made by the Camillus company. Some of the most sought after M3's from WWII were made by Camillus. This knife is made like the original M3's, is not a commemorative edition, and was manufactured in the 1990's. Even though they were not military issue, this style knife remained very popular with US military personnel all during the Cold War era, and are still so today. The knife has an overall length of 12", with a blade length of 7" and a width of 1 1/4". The leather handle has been fashioned to look like the WWII originals. The parkerized blade is fashioned in the same manner as the WWII ones. The reverse ricasso is stamped in two lines U.S./CAMILLUS. The obverse ricasso has no stamps or marks of any kind. The all leather scabbard is in very good condition. The overall condition of the knife and scabbard is very good. This will make a nice representative of a WWII fighting knife for the WWII reenactor, or a great hunting, fishing and camping knife.
