The naval service caps of the modern era have a basic frame that enables the sailor to change out different color covers, precluding the need for several different complete caps. Included in this grouping are: one standard utility cap, one navy garrison cap, one flat hat, one tan and one blue t cover for the combination dress cap. Also included is a black chin strap to be worn with the combination dress cap. All five of these covers are marked in naval regulation stampings of Chief Petty Officer W.E. Pierce Jr. Pierce was a career Navy man from Kingsport, Tennessee. These came into the shop directly from the family. If you collect modern era US Navy items these will go well with your collection.
