This book was written by Lee Hadaway, published in 2004, the narrative is 83 pages and is illustrated with black and white photos. This is a must have for the reference library if you plan to collect Confederate made and or used knives. The book was written by Lee Hadaway and the photographs were made by Terry Gumlich. Having known Lee for a few years now, I can say that his personality comes out in his writing. He has authored two books on Confederate Bowie knives. His knowledge comes from over 25 years of collecting and researching Confederate knives. The book is well illustrated with 27 photographs of arsenal made and blacksmith crafted fighting knives. The text is easy to follow, well detailed and sprinkled with Lee's little bits of common sense and wisdom through out. Included is a section titled "Features that should raise red flags", some information that can prevent you from making a costly mistake at the shows or on line auctions. All the knives illustrated in this book are owned by the author. The only flaw with this book is a small slit cut in the front cover. Apparently this one was on top when the box was cut open, them dang bowie knives really hold an edge! This paper back book is in good condition.
