This is a photo album from the Korean War period. The album measures 9 1/2" wide and 6" tall. The front and back covers are made of wood and have been lacquered black. The front cover has been embellished with a map of Japan and Korea. The major cities of the islands of japan are shown, as well as the capital city of South Korea, Seoul, and Pusan. Mount Fuji is shown above the Japanese islands, along with bright colored flowers and trees. The album was made to hold 44 5" x 7" photos. There are no photographs in the album. A leather binding, tied with gold and white colored fringe, holds the album together. This was probably bought by some American serviceman on R&R in Japan while serving in Korea. If you have some loose Korean War era photographs laying around, this will make a great home for them!
