This is an empty original box for 20 center fire 50-70 government rounds manufactured by the Remington Arms-United Metallic Cartridge Company in the 1920's. The 50-70 round was developed in 1866 and was used as the primary rifle ammunition from 1866 until replaced by the 45-70 round in 1873. The box is in very good condition, with sharp edges and no damage anywhere. The box art is in good condition, the colors are still bright and have little defacing. The 450 grain rounds themselves are no longer present. If you have an antique ammunition collection this will be a welcomed addition!
