This is a copy of The Kingsport Times, a newspaper serving the northeast Tennessee Tri City area. It is a City edition and is dated 8 October, 1942. This is a 16 page edition, and all 16 are here. The headline for this Thursday in 1942 reads, "Japs Give Up Two Aleutian Bases." There is one photo on the front page, a picture of a civilian bus and a fuel tanker that collided and 11 people were killed. There are numerous articles on the front page that relate to the war, from the Russians breaking a barrier at Stalingrad, Russian troops sent back across the DON River,Remaining Jap Base hit heavily to the Australians having supply problems. The paper is in fair condition, but has insect and rodent damage to the top left and very center of the pages. The pages are yellow, but the articles and photos are very clear and legible This will make a nice addition to your WWII documents collection.
