This is a World War II British 25 Pounder shell case made into trench art. The head stamp on this one reads 25Pr II F&L C.F. 1942 5 7 3 LOT. In short it's a shell case for a 25 Pound British field piece manufactured by Fisher & Ludlow LTD, Birmingham England 1942. The shell case is 11 1/2" tall and 4" across. The art work on this one is amazing. It depicts a wind mill and HOLLAND underneath. Here is another piece of art work from a soldier far from home, occupying his time and producing a remarkable keep sake.
