This is a non dug US Navy coat button from the Civil War era. This button is one piece in design, measures 23.03 mm and utilizes a shank. It is back marked "WARRANTED BEST QUALITY". The face of the button is the same as depicted in Albert's book as NAVY 86A on page 99. The brass button has a beautiful golden patina on the face, with a small amount of tarnish on the back. The back mark is clear and very legible. The shank is present and standing tall. Whether you are a button collector or a Naval collector, this button will look great in your collection.
