This is a pewter figurine from an unknown sculptor entitled "Confederate Indian Scout". The pewter figure of a Confederate scout comes on an attractive oval wooden base that measures 4 3/4" by 3 1/2" and is approximately 5 1/2" tall. The sculptor went into great detail, showing the scout on the trail, tracking an elusive Yankee. He holds his carbine cradled in his left arm, his right hand is pointing out something on the trail. The scout wears a shell jacket, cavalry trousers and knee high moccasins. His rectangle belt plate with belt are clearly visible, the only thing on it is his knife and sheath. He also wear a breechcloth, with decorative apron panels on the front and rear. The Indian Scout wears a slouch hat without any insignia, but has one feather stuck in the hat band. The wooden base has a pewter banner that reads Confederate Indian Scout, with a drum, US and Confederate flag on the left side. This piece would make a great desk ornament or a decorator piece in your war room, perhaps the perfect birthday or Christmas gift!
