This is a non excavated Federal Navy coat button from the Civil War period. The button is of a two piece design and is back marked D. EVANS & CO./ATTELBORO MASS. and measures 22.49 mm. The majority of the gilt remains on the button. The shank is still reporting for duty and is standing straight and tall. This is a nice piece to complete your button collection.
