This is a pewter figurine from Hudson of General Ulysses Simpson Grant sculpted in 1992. The pewter figure of General Grant comes on a square pewter base that measures 1 5/8" square and is approximately 3 1/2" tall. This one has an inventory number of 7186. The sculptor went into great detail, showing the general standing, looking out over the battlefield. He is holding a cigar in his right hand, his left hand is in his pocket. Grant wears a great coat over his regular uniform. His frock coat is completely unbuttoned and his vest is partially unbuttoned. He is not wearing a belt or any weapons. He has on a slouch hat that he was always known to wear. This reminds me of a scene where Grant was standing on the deck of a ship outside Vicksburg. It would make a great desk ornament or a decorator piece in your war room, perhaps the perfect birthday or Christmas gift!
