This is a book that discusses the varying roles of the Chief in Native American cultures. It profiles such notable leaders as Metacomet, the great Apache Chiefs, Chief Joseph and Chief Plenty Coups. This book is part of a series on the Native Americans published by Time Life Books with a publication date of 1992. The red cover with gold lettering make this a visually appealing book. As with all of the Time Life series books, this one is very well written and informative. The narrative is 177 pages, broken into 4 chapters. The book is illustrated with numerous colored drawings, black and white as well as color photographs. The hard back book measures 11" x 8 1/2". This makes a great reference book for the early Native American collector, or a replacement for the one book you're missing from this series!
