This is a pair of non excavated New York Excelsior cuff buttons from the Civil War. The buttons are of a two piece design and have the back mark of SCOVILL MF'G CO. WATERBURY. The majority of the gilt remains on both buttons. The shanks are still reporting for duty and standing tall. Nice pieces to complete your button collection, or maybe the final piece you need to complete a restored Civil War coat from the state of New York.
