This is a lithograph of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest done by John Lawrence Giles of New York. Giles produced the lithograph in 1868 using a wartime image of Forrest taken in 1864. Forrest is shown wearing a frock coat with the collar tabs of a Lieutenant General. The image has great clarity. It's almost as if you can see in his eyes that's he's thinking about the next battle. Below the image of Forrest is N.B. FORREST. Printed in the bottom left corner is PUBLISHED BY GEO. F. PERINE, 111, NASSAU ST. N.Y. Printed in the bottom right corner is J.L. GILES. LITH. N.Y. The visible part of the lithograph measures 9 3/4" wide by 11 1/4" high. It has been professionally matted and framed and looks absolutely fantastic. This is a must have for the serious Confederate collector!
